Chief Executive Officer Michael Bolling brings more than 30 years of experience transforming public education, from the classroom to the state level. He has a rare ability to see both the big picture and the practical path forward, helping districts move from traditional models toward dynamic, future-ready schools that meet both student and community needs and desires. Michael collaborates with school districts to engineer visionary learning models and high-demand career pathways, ensuring innovation becomes a permanent part of the institutional culture.
Michael served most recently as Chief Academic Officer for Stafford County Public Schools, where he oversaw all K–12 instructional programs and led the creation of the Academy of Technology and Innovation, a regional Virginia College Laboratory School, and specialty centers in each of six district high schools. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Superintendent for Learning and Innovation at the Virginia Department of Education, providing statewide leadership across STEM, career and technical education, and humanities. He is perhaps best known for founding and leading, a nationally recognized, innovation-driven public high school built around computer science and coding, developed in partnership with 14 school divisions and Reynolds Community College.
